Join the collaboration of Kentucky Heartwood, SAWS (Southern Appalachian Wilderness Stewards), and the Forest Service for a day clearing downed trees in Beaver Creek Wilderness. As a federally designated wilderness area, we must use traditional tools like the crosscut saw, handsaw, and ax to remove trees from the trail corridor. No experience required, only a willingness to do some fun and hard work outside! Throughout the day you will learn about the tools, trail maintenance, and the importance of wilderness areas.
